Johannes von Stumm received his diploma from the Academy of Fine Art in Munich. Early influences include his upbringing close to the ice and rocks of the Alps and ancestors who were blacksmiths and steel factory owners.  In Johannes's view “it is the spiritual energy of a piece of art which counts, and nothing else” and he has  spent many years discovering how to combine seemingly incompatible materials to achieve this.

Johannes is President of the Royal British Society of Sculptors.
