Frederic Chevarin is a French sculptor whose work involves movement in stone inspired by nature. To Frederic, sculpture is about passion and feelings, giving away what he has received and adding to the stone this extra element of life - vitality. The thinness of his sculptures creates a paradox between the apparent lightness of the material and its weight. Frederic is mainly self-taught but has learnt from stonecutters and sculptors and, since 2008 when he became an Associate of the Royal British Society of Sculptors, he has been mentored by Helaine Blumenfeld FRBS. He has lived and exhibited in France, Italy and the UK.
