Regis Chaperon was born in France where he trained as a stonemason, gaining experience by working in ateliers and on conservation projects across France and in Pietrasanta, Italy.   Carving a variety of limestones, sandstone, granite, basalt, marble and onyx, Regis acquired sculptural and masonry skills and further qualifications in France, Carrara and Valencia.  He has created public sculptures in France, Spain and Germany.
